Hypospadias catheter has been made from high quality medical grade silicon and is totally inert when in human tissues. It has a good flexibility and maintains lumen even when bent acutely at 270 degree. Insertion into pediatric urethra is easy and removal post-op does not pose any problems.

Technique of use : The catheter is inserted into hypospadiac meatus during surgery so that its expanded end lies at glans level. Once the neourethra has been formed around the catheter, the catheter is fixed by passing the glans holding stitch through the catheter has expanded end. The catheter can now drain into the diapers and the baby can be discharged whenever feasible. On follow-up, the catheter can be easily removed by cutting the holding stitch and removing the catheter by holding it with forceps or mosquito.
