INTRODUCTION :

SMP ( Sancheti Modular Prosthesis) is  a modular partial hip replacement prosthesis used for management of intra-capsular neck femur fractures. It has 4 stem sizes which gives better fit in femur and prevents problems due to loosening.

FEATURES :
1. The stems are available in four sizes – Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
2. Separate femoral heads & stem.
3. Allows optimal fit in both femur as well as acetabulum.
4. Collar of femoral stem sits over the calcar femorate, the strongest portion of bone and thus prevents
    subsidence.
5. Stems are Corrandum blasted stem for uncemented fixation (for increased osseous integration).
6. Femoral stem has got 3 planer taper which narrows distally which gives better fit in metaphyseal area and tip     remains in centre of medullary canal, preventing anterior thigh pain.
7. Modularity helps to get exact reproduction of anatomy and biomechanics.
8. Circumferential collar gets locked in the neck imparting rotational stability.

INDICATIONS :
1. Trans-cervical neck femur fracture.
2. Basi-trochanteric neck femur fracture.
3. Intertrochanteric neck femur fracture.
